| Karen M Dake, PT, PCS
Karen received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical
Therapy from Russell
Sage College in Troy New York. She has over 10
years of pediatric experience in various settings
including pediatric brain injury rehabilitation, school
districts, aquatics, CPSE and Early Intervention.
Karen developed and presented a New
York State Physical Therapy Association- sponsored
Aquatic PT course at Sunnyview
in 2001 and has specialized in Pediatric Aquatic Physical
Therapy for 6 years. She received her certification
in the Halliwick Technique of Aquatic Therapy in 2002.
Karen completed her 8 week NDT (Neuro-Developmental
Treatment) certification course in the Treatment of
Children with Cerebral Palsy in 2003. Karen has served
as a mentor and clinical instructor to aspiring physical
therapists and physical therapist assistants for most
of her PT career.
Karen is a member of the American
Physical Therapy Association and believes that
ongoing continuing education and research is essential
to the provision of excellent Pediatric Physical Therapy
Services. She also has a strong commitment to clinical
instruction of PT students to ensure the exchange
of experience and new information within the profession.
Karen served as adjunct faculty
member at Franklin
Pierce College in Concord, New Hampshire. She was one of the instructors of the Pediatric Physical Therapy program in 2003-2005 for second year graduate students.
